Patient-Centered Stroke Rehabilitation & Outcomes Research

Cecilia Fierro, OTD, OTR

Clinical Research Occupational Therapist | Clinical Associate Professor, UTEP

Dr. Cecilia Fierro is an occupational therapist, clinician-educator, and member of the N’MORE clinical research team. She brings extensive experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation, adult rehabilitation, and occupational therapy education, including her faculty work at the University of Texas at El Paso.

Alongside Dr. Natalie Pravinkumar, Dr. Fierro played an instrumental role in adapting the intensive, task-specific upper-extremity intervention from the original Critical Periods After Stroke Study (CPASS) for home-based delivery through tele-CPASS. Her contributions helped translate the intervention's therapeutic principles into a format suitable for remote rehabilitation.

Dr. Fierro also co-authored a peer-reviewed publication in Bioengineering (2025) examining the relationship between clinical motor capacity and real-world upper-extremity performance after stroke.
